Under Blogging

Hello folks and welcome to the second part of the Getting Started Series. On this post, I am going to share to you where you do your blogging journey or more specifically, where you build your blog.

Assuming that you never heard what is a blog or blogging is about, I am thinking of sharing a little and quick information about this topic.

Well, a blog is a type of website where your content is arranged chronologically. What I mean is that, when you publish a new post or content in your website, it will be published or posted in the most top or above all your previous blog post then the same goes to the other.

What makes a blog great is that, Google loves it because of its frequent fresh updates. So if you are a blog marketer that wants to build an online business through blogging, this is the time to get started.

So Where You Do Blogging?

The fact is that, there are plenty of places where you can start a blog. Below is the list of some website where you can start building your own blog. But first, I am going to share the free to use blogging platform.

For reasons bloggers and internet marketers, using the paid blogging platforms tends to have more value compared to the free. Because sometimes your readers would think that if you invest money in your website, you won’t take your blog’s content for granted. And that you build your credibility.

Technical Professionalism.

Having a blog that used a sub-domain like “yourblogname.blogspot.com or yourblogname.wordpress.com” your readers other other webmasters that the owner of this website is not professional.

Having a good custom domain name, a great website hosting and an eye-grabbing blog template will really help you to stand from the crowded place of blogging industry.

Why they call it Paid Blogging Platform.

They called this blogging platform as paid, it is because you need to have your own custom domain name and a web hosting account. The domain name will serve as your website address and the web hosting server will keep your website or blog online all the time.

To get your own custom domain name, you can go to GoDaddy.com or NameCheap.com. These domain name registrars are the most authorized and the best options for most bloggers.

And to get your own web hosting account, I suggest to use HostGator as they have the most lowest monthly subscription. Unlike any other web hosting company, hostgator let you pay your subscription monthly not quarterly or yearly.

What about self hosted blogging options? I would personally avoid the “free” sites, you have no control over content and they can shut down. What about if you want to go self-hosted? How are you going to redirect your SEO efforts?

Blogging nowadays is much more diverse compared to good old days when wordpress and blogger used to be your sole options. Though there are obvious advantages of paid platforms, I would strongly suggest beginners to go for free platforms first. With extreme importance of backlinks today, the diversity of options also opens up new possibilities to conjure a self sustaining framework of content publishing and promotion. I hope this article reaches your target audience (noobs). Commendable effort anyways, Felix.

Well, these are all platforms to be taken if you’re a beginner or an amateur. But if you want to make money it’s better to choose a paid platform. Thus you can gain some advantages that you won’t get on a free platform.

Wish I had all this info when I first started blogging. Your post is very thorough and goes into detail about all the options. I personally think that the free sites are a good way to start. I suggest using WordPress.com first, this way, if you feel that blogging is for you, it will be easier to switch to WordPress.org to start making real money. Thanks for the post Felix!
