How Feedburner Can Be An Alternative for Aweber?
This post would share to you the concept on how to use feedburner works like aweber in terms of giving away your bribe.
Many bloggers these days really want to do Email Marketing as what those Internet Marketing Gurus are suggesting to become a successful blogger.
But despite of that facts, still many bloggers (note: I am still working for my ebook and ecourse) are not building their own list using an email marketing software like aweber because they don’t have the money to invest yet.
As I can see, I noticed that feedburner can be good alternative email marketing program for aweber.
You maybe wandering how these things to be done. Honestly, I’ve done the partial part of this technique and it is quite working.
That’s why, I want to share this technique to all bloggers who are using blogspot and wordpress blogging platform.
Here are the things for you to be done.
1. Give something valuable as a bribe.
As what John Chow said on his ebook called “Blog Profit Model“, an ebook still the best way to give as a bribe for your subscribers to be in the future.
But you have the choice if you want to add an ecourse in your email marketing techniques.
2. Editing your Feedburner Email Subscription.
Assuming that you already pasted the feedburner subscription codes in your blog and your bribe (ebook) is already finished, you will now edit your feedburner email subscription where you will paste the download link of your ebook as a bribe for your readers in subscribing your blog via email.
To do this, go to your blog feedburner dashboard and follow the steps below:
1. Click the “Publicize” tab.
2. Click the “Email Subscription: link on the left side then a sub menu will pull down.
3. Click the “Communication Preferences” link from the sub menu. Then you will end up on the page like the image below.
4. Edit the Confirmation Email Subject.
On this area, you can create a motivational words that would encourage your readers to read on what does the email contains. See the image below:
5. Edit the Confirmation Email Body
On this area, you will now edit or paste the download link of your ebook. But be careful on deleting some elements inside it.
After editing, copy and paste it on the confirmation body email then click SAVE.
My Words and Tips.
Be sure to read some instructions given inside the feedburner dashboard. If you still encounter some difficulties, you can set it to its default settings.

Great post Felix! I used Feedburner to create my subscription form that allows my reader to download my free ebook. Of course, Feedburner has less stat than Aweber but I think it is a valid alternative for those have not money to spend.

Nice way to build a list but how do you send an email to big lists? For that you will need something like aweber which has tracking available.

That’s a great question of yours. When the time that you have a small amount of emails, you can send to them one by one or by two’s.
But as what I’ve stated above, Feedburner can be an alternative for aweber in terms of giving away the bribe to your readers to make them your email subscribers.

Actually, aweber have more great features than feedburner like broadcasting a promotional message to your members.
In feedburner, you can only share your message to your readers via writing the message using your blog post then your email subscribers would be notified that you made a new post whether it is promotional or a pure information.
But you can a blog that would serve as your promotional blog where you promote your blog or product of other person. In aweber also, you can choose who are those people you would like to receive your message.
They say that aweber can help you capture your first time readers to be your loyal readers.

This method works pretty fine but the problem is that your subscribers would be getting the download link before they even confirm their subscriptions
. If I were after JUST THE EBOOK, I won’t click on the confirmation link anymore after I’d gotten what I wanted.
There are free alternatives like FeedMailPro, WP Email Capture and MailChimp. I blogged about their services recently.
P.S: In Opera 10.61 and Firefox 3.6.8 your floating bookmark panel is overlapping the theme though it’s not blocking the content. Also it’s impossible to see the full list of commentluv links as your theme seems to have a restricted height and is blocking some portion of the comment area.

Actually, I also used mail chimp but still working for an ecourse to share to my readers. Regarding the overlapping of my bookmark panel, thank you that you noticed it.
I will find ways to fix it.

Hey Felix, nice way to setup Feedburner like this. But the issue with FB is that you don’t get to mail your customers at YOUR liberty! I think AWeber is currently The Best for what it does! But it will be beaten hands down if Feedburner decides to come up with Professional Mail Service and allow to setup Autoresponders!

nice article though as a previous commentor has said, it’s too easy to just click on the free download link and not the feedburner activation link.
