After your newly built niche site is published, the next thing you probably want (it is I think necessary) to do is to look for related websites that you can connect and comment on or perhaps let them know that your site is now live and kicking.

This task is indeed time consuming and for you to able to get rid of it, sometimes you outsource this thing.

The fact is that, doing this website searching is really fast and easy to do that you don’t even need to outsource it and spend money paying other people to do it for you.

This post will be focusing on how you will do the blog searching processes. So better read the whole post and prepare your pen and paper to list down those related blogs you will find afterward.

1. TECHNORATI.

Bloggers and niche marketers tend to submit their newly published websites or blogs to blog directories. Where most of the time, Technorati.com is one of the largest blog directory online.

When you visit the technorati, you will see a bunch of categories on their navigation bar. Click one of the link that is related to your topic on the navbar and you be redirected to their categorized list of topics

Another way of using technorati is use their “search box”. There, you have the choice of looking for a post or a blog itself. Just type the keyword you want and they will give the most relevant results to your queries.

Blog catalog is the also a great blog directory for you to use in search related niche websites. They got lots of websites/blogs which are indexed on their listing/server.

When you visit their browsing feature, you can easily find the related sites you want because they got an easy to use navigation bar. After clicking the “browse blogs” menu in the navigation bar, scroll down a little bit and you will see the “blog categories” that might related to you.

3. GOOGLE BLOG SEARCH.

Google have the largest quantity of web pages indexed on their server. In which they sort those pages for specific/related keyword terms to give you the best search results. That’s how search engine works.

Another fact is that, Google also have the largest amount of blogs listed on their directories because bloggers tend to submit their blogs to their directory to get their blogs/websites indexed immediately.

Using their Google Blog Search feature, you can easily find the most related blogs you have searched for so long.

In my early days of blogging, I search for some tips on how to find those related blogs. But most of the time, I ended to search it over blog directories like I stated above. Then after of doing the blog search process for awhile, I discover how to use Google in finding related websites.

ALEXA BLOG DIRECTORY. Bonus!

how to find related blogs

This is the plus 1 bonus I mentioned above. Almost all bloggers have an alexa account for the purpose of knowing their traffic progress based on alexa rankings. Many Internet Marketers have debated that alexa can’t give you the accurate ranking of your site based on your traffic. Whether it’s true or not, alexa is still a good motivating factor for bloggers to do more effort to their blogging career.

Using Alexa to search related blogs and websites is really easy to do. Also with lots of options like searching blogs globally, by country or by category. Either which option you use, it depends on your target.

To Put All Things Together.

Based on the tips stated above, I hope that you find it helpful to you as you are gathering those websites to get connected with. If you don’t mind, please tell your friends about it by sharing it to facebook or twitter.

Also if you find other ways to find related blogs/websites, we are open to hear it from you. Please share it in the comment below!

Well I’d say that Blogcatalog is a good resource simply because of the volume that it has. Some of the sites out there have volumes but not really the blogging community that BG has. Blogcatalog’s users are so accommodating that you can really interact with them well..

Yeah… That’s true Melvin. In fact, Blog Catalog was a good source of traffic into my blog because I do communicate to other BC users. From that, they got the interest to learn more about me by visiting my blog and judge if I can be a good help for them.

Thanks for the comment Melvin, I really appreciate it.

That’s good to know Alex. Go for it. It is known that Technorati indexed millions of blogs since 2008 or before that year.

If you got some techniques to share about using Technorati in searching related blogs, you can share it to us or make a guest about it.
